On 20th of September a woman named Serena came into our school to teach us about how to make our mini-companies successful. She presented us with a PowerPoint which outlined where people had excelled and where people often failed. Also in the PowerPoint she showed us what we could do to make our product more profitable and also how people had previously promoted their product. One of her examples was a boy who won it two years ago, he got himself an interview on the late, late show before everyone else so that people knew what he was selling and how they could purchase it. I found this talk interesting and felt that it will help me when it comes to setting up my own mini-company.
After the PowerPoint we were put into groups of four and were told to come up with ideas of what products could be made out of paper clips. My team and I got 11 while the best team got 25.
Serena then gave the people who are working together in the mini-company to organize their ideas. I am working with Aran. She must have overheard us talking as she came over and asked us to explain our idea to her. She thought it was an excellent idea however she said it would take a lot of work.
